Japanese Bookbinding workshop
We are delighted to be introducing this BRAND-NEW Japanese Bookbinding Workshop.
Working in a relaxed and friendly environment, and using minimal hand tools and materials, you will make two beautiful hardcover books.
Following a brief introduction to the world of bookbinding, you will be shown the traditional Japanese binding technique known as stab binding, specifically a method called 4-hole stitching.
With guidance from your experienced and knowledgable tutor, you will then have the pleasure of making two hardcover books, each covered in handmade Japanese Chiyogami decorative paper - delicate in design, allowing your binding to be the star of the show!
This workshop is designed for beginners. The workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm, with a pause for a ploughman-style lunch. Your lunch and all the materials to make your two hardback books will be provided, as will a workshop apron for you to wear during your day.
Let us introduce you to your new obsession; making beautiful handmade books, just because!
Places on this workshop are limited to 8.
